Mt Keira Service Weekend

The SC&T Region Rovers Service Weekend is on again. Don't let the service turn you off!
We have an awesome Saturday night planned with a fire and entertainment at the Rover Den. On Sunday morning breakfast, will be provided before we get stuck into the service activity (should be pretty easy especially with many hands)!
There may be a $2.50 charge for camping the night but I will advise people about that ASAP!

You've probably seen our SC&T Region shirts worn by many of our Rovers and now is your chance to grab one! Shirts are $30 each and come in sizes S-XXL. Or if you want to buy region gear in a different form we will also be selling SC&T Rovers stubby holders for $8 each! Bargain! Stubby holders will soon be available for purchase at RRC's and at our SC&T Moot.

If you would to try on the shirt sizes before you buy, contact Rosie O'Meley (email below).

Snowcraft Weekend

If you are interested in trying snow shoeing (it is just like hiking, only on the snow) then get into contact Greg. There has been plenty of snowfall of late, and we are planning a weekend walking from Guthega to Blue Lake on the 9th and 10th August. The weekend will be suitable for novices and experienced people alike. Applications close Tuesday 5 August. Stay tuned, snow cover pending there may well be another snow shoe weekend later in the season, as well as snow cross country skiing.

Inter-Crew Challenge/Hike for Hunger 2014

Every year NSW Rovers runs Hike for Hunger (H4H). This is a simple collection of food cans to feed the homeless through Wesley mission. The race is on again this year too see how many cans we can collect. Last year we collected 500, this year we're aiming for 1000 cans.

The inter-crew challenge has been set for the month of August and it's to collect as many cans as possible. The cans will be counted at a gathering in September. For now start collecting cans from your group, or have a collection at a local shopping centre. More details on promotional material and this challenge will be explained at August RRC.

Commissioner's Corner

Really just a few reminders from me this time :

Firstly that the service weekend at Mt Keira is this coming weekend – a great opportunity to contribute to the camp and to meet up with people from your own and other crews. – I hope to see you there.  Some few of us will be late in arriving on Saturday as we will be attending a BRC meeting in Sydney during the afternoon.

Secondly, please get in touch with me if you or your new members want to attend the “Intro to Rovers” course (which is a part of Squire Training on Tuesday August 12th. It will be a 5.30 start and will only proceed if I get 4 or more committed responses by August 10th.

Finally, I’m pleased to report that I have received Emily Whitelaw’s BPSA badges and presentation material. I am looking forward to the presentations  by her Crew and by The Governor.
